Rental Rates & Requirements

Rental rates vary slightly by dropzone and equipment type, typically ranging from $30-$75 per day for a full rig. Weekly rates are also available for extended use.

Requirements for Rental:

  • Valid USPA License (A license minimum for most main parachutes, higher licenses for advanced canopies).
  • Proof of current USPA Membership.
  • A refundable security deposit is required for all equipment rentals.
  • Completion of a rental agreement and liability waiver.

Rules of the Air: Licensing and Requirements

For experienced skydivers, adherence to United States Parachute Association (USPA) guidelines and licensing requirements is crucial for safety and continued progression in the sport. SkyDive USA fully supports and promotes USPA standards across all our partner dropzones.

USPA Licensing Levels

The USPA offers a structured progression system for skydivers, starting from the basic A license up to the advanced D license. Each license level signifies a skydiver's experience, skill set, and privileges within the sport.

  • A License: Entry-level license, requiring a minimum of 25 jumps, basic freefall maneuvers, and canopy skills. Allows solo jumping and packing your own main parachute.
  • B License: Requires 50 jumps, water landing training, night jump proficiency, and advanced canopy control. Enables jumping with a camera and participating in certain group formations.
  • C License: Requires 200 jumps, a written exam, and demonstration of advanced freefall and canopy skills, including accuracy landings. Allows for certain instructional ratings.
  • D License: The highest license, requiring 500 jumps and extensive experience in various disciplines. Qualifies for all instructional ratings and advanced endorsements.

For detailed information on each license and its specific requirements, please visit the official USPA website.

Annual Recurrency & Gear Checks

Maintaining proficiency and ensuring gear integrity are vital for continued safe skydiving.

  • Annual Recurrency: USPA recommends that licensed skydivers who have not made a freefall skydive within 60 days make at least one jump with a USPA Instructor or complete a recurrency training program. This ensures skills remain sharp.
  • Gear Checks: All personal skydiving equipment, including main and reserve parachutes, AADs, and harnesses, must undergo regular inspections. Reserve parachutes must be repacked by a certified rigger every 180 days, even if not used.
  • Logbook Verification: Always carry your logbook and USPA license. Dropzones will require verification of your license and jump numbers before allowing you to jump.
